The Louisville Science Center serves about 550,000 families, students and teachers each year.
The Louisville Science Center was designated the State Science Center of Kentucky by the Kentucky General Assembly.
Since 1977, the Science Center has served over 8 million people, bringing science in a fun and fresh way to new audiences.
The Louisville Science Center has hosted 59 IMAX® films since the IMAX Theatre opened in 1988, taking over 3.2 million people to places they've never been before!
Since 1977, the Science Center has served over 1.6 million students from every county in Kentucky, as well as 26 counties in Indiana.
Since 1988, 850,651 children ages 7 and under have developed important skills for life in KidZone.
Since 1988, 50,504 people from across Kentucky have participated in a Midnight Magic Camp-in, an overnight program designed to immerse young "campers" in science via hands-on labs, interactive exhibits and IMAX® films.
Since 1977, the Science Center has served nearly 95,000 students through outreach programs.
Since the traveling edition of The World We Create Traveling Exhibit began touring in January 2000, it has visited 21 sites in Kentucky and reached 59,076 people, helping rural communities explore the creative thinking that makes scientific advancements possible. Since September 2000, the nationally touring exhibit has reached 171,703 people in eight states.
The Louisville Science Center offers hour-long Distance Learning programs to students and teachers across the country via IP/ISDN connection and around the state through the Kentucky TeleLinking Network (KTLN). Since the program began in 1995, the Science Center has reached more than 19,000 students and teachers from Kentucky and across the country.
Since the annual Teacher Institute began in 1992, over 2,800 teachers from across Kentucky have participated in our 10-day workshops designed to equip teachers with hands-on classroom activities and curriculum-based knowledge. Those teachers have gone on to share that knowledge with countless students across the state.
